Since 1970, the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring has been one of the toughest races in the world. On the combined Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit – with a lap length of around 25 kilometres – over 100 cars are on the track at the same time. Works teams with GT3 racing cars battle it out here for overall victory, whilst privateer teams and amateurs compete on the same circuit in production-based cars. Hundreds of thousands of fans camp out around the circuit, turning the race into a unique motorsport festival. Throughout the year, the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) – formerly known as the VLN until 2019 – takes place on the Nordschleife. Its races usually last four hours. The series serves as vital preparation for the 24-hour race and is home to many teams and drivers. The images in this collection showcase the racing cars that have shaped endurance racing at the Nürburgring.
