Vic Elford convinced Huschke von Hanstein to enter the Porsche 911 in rally events for the first time – and with his victories, he made the 911 famous at this level as well. This was followed by a long rally history, fueled by privateers, but also by t"&"he factory in 1984. The Porsche 953 successfully contested the Paris-Dakar with all-wheel drive, and in 1984, a small series of the 911 SC RS with Group B homologation was built, winning the 6,000 km Qatar Rally. The 959 won this rally in 1986. In 2014, T"&"imo Bernhard and his Team 75 successfully fielded a 911 in the German Rally Championship.
