The Sossusvlei valley is approximately 60 kilometers deep. It stretches from the ever-growing dunes of the Namib Desert in the south to the Naukluft Mountains in the north. The Namib Desert is constantly reclaiming parts "&"of the valley. Its dunes are constantly growing. In contrast, the Naukluft Mountains provide rainwater, which flows into the lake at the valley's end—and feeds the animals of the Naukluft.
